Always confusing for regulars this one, when a TOC (Train Operating Company) decides to run a special service it does not go to all the lengths required to plan a new service it simply adapts a current one ie a saturday service and makes alterations to that as required.  If its then published as a saturday service (which to most regular users it may be ) then the trains which appear in the saturday timetable but don't run will be shown as cancellations aginst the company.  So its isssed and published as a special timetable.  Roll Eyes

This one confuses me, too, Sion.

On a Monday to Friday, there are trains to Swindon at 07:15 and 19:45
On a Saturday, there are trains at 09:15 and 15:15
And on a Sunday at 17:45 and 19:45
This week, there are trains at 10:30 and 17:00.

(All times rounded to nearest quarter hour)

Doesn't look much like a Saturday service in my layman's terms!

I understand that these suprise services were a feeder service to Swindon to link up with the Paddington services as there were not may in/out of Westbury to London Paddington.
