The station canopy suffered when the central gable end and its clock required removal and sat with a run of glass removed for some time. It's now been made good so the frontage no longer looks semi-derelict - and on Saturday afternoon the station was very busy with people making their way to trains.

The gable end's not yet reappeared but, clock aside, its absence doesn't have a negative effect on the appearance of the building. Are the gable ends an addition at the turn of the 20th century, does anyone know?
