Complete loss of the ability to move any trains through the station around 16:30 and the issue's proved intractible, so the entire evening's services lost. Thoughts with railway staff + many passengers stranded.

Being described as both a major power supply failure (aka a "big fuse") and a signalling telecomms fault. That's ominous, if one has caused the other.

As an aside, Realtime Trains notes today's Highland Chieftan from Inverness as cancelled, with the attribution.

"This service was cancelled between Inverness and Edinburgh due to temporary speed restrictions as a result of heat (X4)."
