From GWR (Great Western Railway) briefing ...

"As from December 2023 there will be two trains an hour all the way from Reading to Gatwick rather than just one", Monday to Saturday."

Detail - the Reading to Redhill service will be extended to Gatwick, and stopping patterns changed.  In each hour, one train will call at all stations to the west of Guildford then fast (key stations only?). The second train will be fast (key stations only?) to Guildford, then call at all stations beyond.  I understand that some long stops at Guildford will be reduces.  All trains will be 3 car turbos.

Journey time 6-7 minutes slower as a result.  Will take over an hour and a half.  Though a consistent 2tph service rather than one taking a bit less time and a slow stopping train.  The 3tph plan of years ago dropped due to the abandonment of the 769 project.
