I HAVE seen that new logo on some of the GBR (Great British Railways) pages - and the article says that it's been around for a month - but I don't think we've covered it here?

Nothing new to see there,it dates from the BR (British Rail(ways))  CIM corporate identity manual,circa 1980

I can see the Welsh & Scottish being really keen on that logo.

Surely a bit more imagination could have gone into it rather than being a retread of BR (British Rail(ways))?

Hardly indicates an organisation looking to the future.

....or (hoping they did not spend a shedload of money on this) one that will concentrate its resources on doing the job, rather than PR (Public Relations), advertising, re-branding, etc.

I'm not sure that an application for trademark protection means this is the intended design, or even that it is one of a number being seriously considered. It pretty much proposed itself, based in similar designs used by BR (British Rail(ways)) in the past, and several people (not just Lee) have been using it. So it is likely to be on any initial long list of designs. But the application may just be protective, trying to stop potential uses they (NR» (Network Rail - home page), GBR (Great British Railways) etc.) would see as malicious, or even just mischievous or confusing. Have they been registering domains for similar reasons?
