Now if they are successful in getting this refused, are they providing more weight for the idea of moving Mortimer Station to the proposed Grazeley Garden Village? Interestingly Englefield Estate also own most of the land for Grazeley Garden Village.

As an aside, I love the way the subtitle for the map has been capitalised.  Where The Car Park Would Be sounds like a particularly niche novel!

One might also point out that, on the other side of the line, there is a small engineering business and a Calor Gas depot. Their car parking and storage yard already take up a larger area than the proposed car park, and don't strike me as outstandingly rural in character.

Unfortunately the opposition is probably right in this case; the car park should not eat into a valuable 40 acre field, beyond the built-up boundary. There is a small, agriculturally uneconomic 2 acre field to the North West of the station that would be nearer the main road, enough for up to 500 cars.
