There's an element of <rant> here ...
I ... utterly ... appreciate it when people suggest I have a look at sites and Facebook groups, and consider joining them. However ...
a) If you're going to feed me multiple resources in a day, and they're of such general interest that other member might be interested too,
please post them in an appropriate place on the forum. That way, you will reach far more people, more quickly, and not leave me feeling as if I'm being used as a go-between
b) Please let me decide what groups, etc, to apply for membership of. Another message in my inbox - "You have applied to join ..." when, oh no, I have not ... with group rules I'm being asked to agree, an approval process that I don't want to be evaluated for in the first place, and a threat that if my application is declined, that's a final decision and I'm never allowed to apply again.
</rant>
Rant NOT to any members ... posted here in public to remind a couple of lurkers to have the courtesy to ask before they put my name forward to apply for something, and to respect my time enough to join and post links themselves rather than treating me as they might a servant.
Even as I write ... ANOTHER one has come in. Victor Meldrew moment ... "I don't BELIEVE it ..."
