Now that 43185 'Great Western' has performed her final passenger duties and will soon be off to pastures new (hopefully not Ely Papworth Sidings), this will also see the passing of the GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) Mouse.

I believe it is indeed a tribute to the artist Terence Cuneo. He painted many railway scenes, and after the mid 1950s always included a small mouse in his artwork.

I wondered if it was that. He also included a little "Mouse Battery" in his painting of the Battle of Knightsbridge from the WW2 desert campaign (just right of the 25pdr by a discarded jerry can).
