Stagecoach have re-launched their 55 route between Swindon and Chippenham (via Royal Wootton Bassett and Calne) today.

It has become the latest of their Gold routes with the purchase of ten new vehicles and they have a higher spec than the existing Gold buses on the 66 to Oxford.

I had a quick look around one last week when it was put on public display.  There certainly seems to be more legroom and every pair of seats has USB charging sockets and a button to request the next stop.

However there is one big downside if you are on the tall side.  I am 6ft and I cannot walk on the top deck while standing up straight.  I can see some people banging their heads when standing up to alight the bus!
