I noticed that someone has started a petition on the No. 10 website.

It can be viewed here (you do not have to sign) http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/HereMalv/

It is for double track on the Hereford to Malvern Line.

Interestingly, it is a similar structure to mine- but it was not put up by me.

As this will help the Cotswold Line, and therefore FGW (First Great Western) services in many other places, signing would be good.

Perhaps, you all can add the url to your web pages etc.

Thanks, Btline!

PS- perhaps I should have included this section on my original petition!

PPS- the signature count on mine is now very high. I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all for signing/advertising it. It is above the min required to be read by someone. Let's hope they take note!

As a Hereford resident, great idea. Every time over the last few years I've used the train from Hereford to London I've suffered a foul up in one direction or the other - admittedly mainly between Worcester and Oxford, which is why I've also signed the other petition - but also between Hereford and Ledbury.

Remember Ledbury tunnel and Malvern tunnel are single track. Real answer is to redouble Shelwick to Ledbury.

Anyway, with the aggro I suffer on the Hereford services, I've taken to driving to Swindon as there are more services. But still c**p service. Yesterday 28th Feb, the 0641 from Swindon had no buffet and we get held up by damaged signal equipment, not Third Rate's fault, but there's always something and I don't go to London very often.

Also, Third Rate still seem to be happy to cancel or terminate early Hereford services - one of my daughters has suffered several times as a result.

Hand the franchise over to Chiltern I say - look at what they achieved on the Marylebone lines and their fares are so good.

There are some slight timetable tweaks to a couple of the off-peak Hereford trains from Monday, presumably to try to deal with the 11.51 from London being turned back at Ledbury, which has been a frequent problem since December.
