Hi
There were new leaflets on the train this morning warning of major work at Swindon in May or June and Chippenham in July. Does anyone know what the impact to services will be? I do hope we won't be back to buses!

There are works to lower the tracks at four locations between Swindon (more accurately Wootton Bassett Junction) and Chippenham.

27th – 29th May, 10th and 11th June and 8th – 16th July.

There will be more publicity nearer the time but I will see what advance information I can find and report back.

Details now available here - https://www.gwr.com/travel-updates/planned-engineering/swindon2017

Network Rail will be undertaking work in the Swindon area to prepare for our new trains which enter service later this year. As a result of this, train services through Didcot Parkway, Swindon, Chippenham and Bristol Parkway will be amended.
High speed services between London, Bristol and South Wales will be diverted and rail replacement buses will replace trains on routes through Swindon.
Plan your journey here

27 and 29 May, 10 June

Changes to services
between London Paddington and Bristol Temple Meads - Two high speed trains each hour, one of which continues to or starts from Swansea, and will call at Patchway instead of Bristol Parkway
customers for Bristol Parkway should change at Bristol Temple Meads
customers for Chippenham should change at Bath Spa
between London Paddington and Swansea - One high speed train each hour, calling at Patchway instead of Bristol Parkway
between Chippenham and Bristol Temple Meads - One high speed train each hour
between Chippenham and Westbury - One local train every two hours
between Swindon and Cheltenham Spa - One local train each hour
between London Paddington and Oxford - Two trains each hour, calling additionally at Didcot Parkway
between Reading and Newbury/Bedwyn - Some trains will be retimed
