Good Morning All and a Happy New Year to us.
I know this is not a TV▸ (Thames Valley, or TeleVision, depending on context) Programe however
This Morning Sir Kenneth Grange  he of HST▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) fame will be the castaway on Desert Island Discs on BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Radio 4 at 11:15 am with a chance to listen again on the Radio 4 website later on if you missed it

Sorry for the short notice only just found out about the programe  enjoy  WP.

Yes I noted that, yet I remember my mother having a device for scrubbing the skin from potatoes in the 1970s. As was suggested, scrubbing is probably the only way to remove the outer layers of a potato automatically rather than trying to peel it.

Rumbling in water works too. That's how Fish & Chip shops traditionally do it. With a large drum that rotates the spuds and they are scrubbed by rubbing the drum sides, bottom and each other. Running water washes away the scrubbed skin. Provided you don't over rumble you lose far less potato than peeling.

Home rumbler/peelers are also available.

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.
