Our next public meeting, our AGM▸ (Annual General Meeting), will be at 7:00pm on Wednesday 16th March 2016 in the coach house of the Swan hotel, Bradford-on-Avon. Formalities will be kept brief and will be followed by a talk by guest speakers Nick Reid and Steve Bale from Great Western Railway. Nick Reid manages our local stations, and Steve Bale is Project Manager for Major Projects Delivery overseeing the work between Bristol and Bath Spa scheduled for the first week of April 2016.

Why does that site make no mention of Freshford? It's on the same line and in the same area, so can't see why it's omitted.

Freshford is in BaNES and not in Wiltshire

Well, yes and no. The boundary runs through the village but the station does appear to be just in BANES.

There is a great deal of insularity in these parts ... a frustration at times in getting travel and transport planning co-ordinated across borders such as Wiltshire (where lots of houses are being built) and BaNES (where lots of employment is being created). WWRUG» (West Wiltshire Rail Users Group - about), I understand, strictly mirrors the old West Wilts district, although they do have keen members from the "Weymouth end" of the Heart of Wessex,

Swindon-South Coast? Swindon-Somerset? (not just Frome).

The West Wilts Rail User Group - which this thread concerns - is a long established rail user group covering the old district of West Wiltshire which was formed on 1st April 1974 and disbanded on 1st April 2009.  The major towns (largest first) are Trowbridge, Melksham, Warminster, Westbury and Bradford-on-Avon, and the articles of association tell you that they meet in each town in a cycle.

TransWilts looks at journeys to / from / in / Wiltshire and the natural economic area - very different in so much else from WWRUG» (West Wiltshire Rail Users Group - about) too - each has its place (and a who's who thread, but not here or now, would be a good idea!)
