Worth noting too that we have the specific cost example of when the Dilton Marsh platforms were rebuilt in concrete in 1994 - That cost £180,000

Bank of England - £180,000 in 1994 would be £351,704.49 in 2018,  Inflation averaged 2.8% a year.

Chatting with one of the GWR (Great Western Railway) folks this morning, retconning is that work at Dilton Marsh recently probably exceeded half a million.

Further update regarding Portway Parkway received from Bristol City Council for the benefit of forum members:
