From the Great Western Railway press release:
Extra Sunday trains for Cardiff, Bristol and Bath
Great Western is delighted to announce extra late night weekend services between Cardiff and Bristol Temple Meads; and Bath and Westbury.
Recognising the importance of weekend travel to the economies of the cities the operator serves, GWR▸ will introduce a further two late night services from Cardiff Central to Bristol Temple Meads at 2247 on Saturdays and at 2307 on Sundays.
This adds to the extra Sunday enhancements provided last in December 2014 with two additional direct trains from Bristol to Cardiff and a late evening return service.
Complementing these Sunday improvements, will be an extra return service between Westbury, Bath Spa and Bristol Temple Meads, departing from Westbury to Bristol at 0905, and from Bristol to Westbury at 0823. This service continues as the 0912 Westbury to Weymouth.
The new timetable came in on Sunday 11 December, with the first full weekend of new services
With the timetable changing on Sunday 11 and Monday 12 December, this coming weekend will see the first full weekend of the new services.
GWR Regional Development Manager Matthew Barnes said: “Responding to our passenger’s needs, we are delighted that we are able to run these extra services over the weekends, helping you to travel between Bristol and Cardiff, and beyond. We recognise the key role that rail travel has in supporting local communities and the economy, and we are confident that they will be valued by the communities that we serve.”
Is it just me, or is the wording in the middle of that press release perhaps a little garbled?
