No trains between plymouth newton abbot, and the herald has a picture of bristol temple meads!!!! Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

Welcome to the World of the Plymouth Herald........personally I wouldn't have been surprised if they'd used a picture of Gare Du Nord!

That's a bit unfair - there is at least one timetabled HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) from Plymouth to Paddington this morning that goes via Bristol.

What is fanciful is the customer advice quoted - unless XC (Cross Country Trains (franchise)) have got hold of some of these Hitachi Super-Express RRV (Road Rail Vehicle (for example, JCB-type diggers adapted for use also on rails)) bogies ...

Of course, if there was a duplication of routes that provided alternative routes at times of engineering, it would be very much less of a problem if engineering works such as these between Newton Abbott and Plymouth overran - or indeed such engineering works could be planned with a somewhat longer stoppage. Is the population to the south west of Exeter the greatest population in the UK (United Kingdom) to be served via a single rail pinch point?
