FGW^▸ (First Great Western) Twitter feed reporting a fatality at Hayes & Harlington with all lines blocked. From RTT^» (Real Time Trains - website) it might be the 1330 PAD^» (Paddington (London) - next trains)-PNZ which is currently at a stand at Airport Jct.

Alterations to services between London Paddington and Slough
Due to a person hit by a train between London Paddington and Slough all lines are closed.

Impact:
Train services running to and from these stations may be delayed by up to 60 mins or revised. An estimate for the resumption of normal services will be provided as soon as the problem has been fully assessed.
Customer Advice:
South West Trains are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
First Berkshire Buses 1B & 2 Slough (Bus Station) - Burnham, First Berkshire Bus 75 Maidenhead - Taplow - Burnham - Slough (Bus Station) - Langley, First Berkshire Bus 76 Burnham - Slough (Bus Station) - Langley and London Buses 140 Hayes & Harlington - Heathrow Aiport (Bus Station) are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
Underground services are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
Chiltern Railways are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice.
Cross Country are conveying passengers between Reading and Banbury in both directions until further notice.

......never rains but it pours......these suicides (my assumption) seem to be becoming a worryingly regular feature of the Paddington-Reading line, especially West of Hayes.........thoughts of course with all concerned.

......never rains but it pours......these suicides (my assumption) seem to be becoming a worryingly regular feature of the Paddington-Reading line, especially West of Hayes.........thoughts of course with all concerned.

Railway fatalities through suicide are worryingly on the increase across the UK^▸ (United Kingdom) railway network, 286 suicides on the railway last year.  We're close to exceeding that total already this year.  There were well over 300 attempts that were stopped by railway staff.  In one day alone earlier this year there were 6 suicides on the railway network. 
I've seen on my travels through Slough and Ealing Broadway that there appears to be someone employed to watch the fast line platforms.

I thought that when I quoted earlier on ... it's a general word that's used across all delays to indicate what the - err - consequences are, but it's rather unfortunate when it's person / animal hit by train.

TfL^» (Transport for London - about) are apparently very careful with describing any problems with the Emirates Airline cable-car : the service should never be described as "suspended".

Though they slipped up a wee while back.

The use of language can be very much open to interpretation.  I remember back in the Thames Trains days being told that we should avoid using the word 'Terminates' and instead use the phrase 'Final stop' because it risked upsetting those who had suffered from problems during a pregnancy.

For quite a while after Clapham PA^▸ (Public Address (broadcast loudspeaker announcements) or Passenger Assist (railway staff providing physical assistance to passengers with mobility issues), depending on context) announcements didn't refer to signalling failure or signalling problems.

And "final stop" could be upsetting for those of advanced age or with a critical illness.......
