Atlantic Coast Express- 5/9/14

In a case of being right place right time, and a why is Redruth station so crowded with people with cameras at 8:30 on Friday evening being the person I am who carries my camera everywhere I had to get my camera out and see what the fuss was!

20 minutes later the Atlantic Coast Express steamed through and here is my video of it.

I believe it's commemorating 50 years since the Atlantic Coast Express last ran.

Well, an Atlantic Coast Express of sorts still runs. Summer timetable 0906 FGW^▸ from Paddington to Newquay and the 1500 return.

This railtour was indeed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the last time the Southern Region ran an ACE. Hauled by a trio of locomotives, 34067 Tangmere from London to Exeter over the LSWR^▸ route, then 34046 Braunton and 5029 Nunney Castle for the leg into Devon & Cornwall.
