I think there's been a misunderstanding of my move to Ivybridge, which was made because of the reverse shunt at Newton Abbot AND the reintroduction of freight only towards Moretonhampstead not the town itself.  Thus I submit that bignosemac's bustitution and what follows is outside the rules introduced in 2012 under the 'Inclusion of Substitution Exclusion (2012) Weekdays Only After 09:30' amendment.

Naturally this makes a nonsense of Graham's move to Clapham Junction and FTN's subsequent Portsmouth Arms.  Sorry.

Blast! I knew I should've opted for Eggesford. I mean, it has an airfield AND a garden cewntre!

... what follows is outside the rules introduced in 2012 under the 'Inclusion of Substitution Exclusion (2012) Weekdays Only After 09:30' amendment ...

But that's only applicable where the bus substitution is a temporary feature, in order to discourage double claims on BSOG (Bus Service Operators Grant (a partial refund of fuel duty, enabling operators to provide socially necessary public transport)). So the move stands.

From Portsmouth Arms to ... Stromeferry {{Parallel Passenger rule applied for 2006/7 - 1012 tickets each}}

Blast! I knew I should've opted for Eggesford. I mean, it has an airfield AND a garden cewntre!

Nope, I think Portsmouth Arms is fine.  The bus used was a permanent one.   I do wonder when Eggesford will become Chickenford though ...

I think Eggesford used to be Chickenford...but I may have it the wrong way round.

My move from Ivybridge - Bath Spa I declare as Valid. There is a direct train Wink

However due to the appalling levels of vegetarian hot food in the Buffet, I suggest a break of journey at Cullompton Services by jumping out of the droplight of a passing HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units))*

No-one told me we were applying Nabb's rule!

Well, that's the trouble with playing with no referee (or "moderator", in the nuclear engineering sense).

I was surprised to see Graham start this at all - given the tendency of threads on this forum that start well anchored in the logosphere (where rationality prevails) to turn crescent-shaped.

I was surprised to see Graham start this at all ...

I surprised myself ... OK - without explicit exclusion, Nabb's rule is applied - the assumption being made that all rules that are not excluded are included.   Having said which, this is academic as we're now stuck at Okehampton.   I tried to get out using the B1 bus service but understand that ran very briefly - and we've missed the weekly visit of the mobile library to hitch a ride on that.

I'm going to declare virtual Sunday so that we can move, and ask myself why I started the thread!

In that case, I shall apply the Ellis Principle and declare Melksham!

Sounds attractive - but I don't think the Ellis Principle has been tested outside the Wiltshire / Bristol / Bath travel-to-work area. Okehampton commuter flows are Sundays, aren't they?

I think you are confusing the Ellis Principle with the Ellis Prerogative - an easy mistake to make - but the effect is the same; Okehampton it is.
