The trolley dolly pushed her trolley along the train - doing so quickly in the hope that no-one would stop her. But I'm afraid I caught her eye and she stopped. "I can't change any notes" she said "they all gave me notes on the way up". "I've plenty of Irish change - just landed from Dublin" I told her, but she wasn't taking any of that; I did manage to dig out the coins I needed from the bottom of my bag. A sterling attempt to deter boarders was thwarted!
On his way through the train, the conductor sold tickets to the bloke and blokess at the next table to me ... pulling out of his pocket the hugest handful of coins to give them change.
Three questions for lighter side answers ...
a) Why couldn't the trolley operator have got some change from the conductor?
b) Was she right to say "up". Didn't she mean "down"?
c) Have you sent in your entry to the prize quiz, deadline 23:59 tomorrow?
