BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) South Today are trailing a re-make of "London to Brighton in four minutes", accompanied by comparisons with the 1953 and 1983 versions. It should air tomorrow, presumably at 18:30. I'm not sure what you can do with that if you are out of area, as it's not on iPlayer.

The three versions side by side, moderately well synchronised, are currently on BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) Sussex at http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-23853863, and also on Facebook (I didn't note exactly where).

Anyone with satellite television (Sky or Freesat) can receive all the BBC» (British Broadcasting Corporation - home page) regional options and record them with suitable equipment.  Not sure about cable.  South Today is available for 24 hours after broadcast through the BBC South page.

I would think that it was probably the 1953 edition that I can remember watching at Hassocks School in early  60's, just outside Clayton tunnel, but I always thought that the train was going down the wrong track! Assume that they could only put a camera on the rear of the train and then play it backwards.
