A new travel and tourism guide for the Great Marlow line has proved so popular it has gone into reprint.
Working with local partners, First Great Western launched the guide in September. Stocks were rapidly depleted and a further 10,000 copies printed, doubling the initial print run.
Developed in conjunction with the Maidenhead Marlow Passenger Association (MMPA), Buckinghamshire County, Marlow Town and Royal Borough of Windsor Councils along with the Marlow Society the publication aims to promote leisure travel on the popular train line.
The line was the inspiration for the setting of Wind in the Willows, and mentioned in Jerome K Jerome^s Three Men in a Boat, the Great Marlow line covers the area from Marlow to Maidenhead, calling at Bourne End, Cookham and Furze Platt.
Chair of the Maidenhead Marlow Passenger Association Susan Morrison said: ^The Great Marlow Line has a distinguished heritage and strong community connections. This leaflet provides an excellent opportunity for us to build on that by encouraging others to enjoy our wonderful part of the Thames Valley by train. It is fantastic that the guide has proved so popular"
