There has unfortunately been a person hit by a train this evening at Worle. Train involved was the 19:30 off Bristol Temple Meads to Leeds.

CrossCountry were mistakenly reporting this as a fatality, but Network Rail are saying the person is alive and has been taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

As always, thoughts are with the injured person and the rail staff involved.

Woman hit by train rushed to hospital

A woman has been rushed to hospital after being hit by a train in Worle this evening (Sun).

The woman, thought to be in her 40s, was treated by paramedics on the rail line by Worle Railway Station at about 7.15pm.

She suffered several trauma injuries, including to her head, but was conscious and breathing when Great Western Ambulance Service^s critical care team and a hazardous area response team arrived at the scene.

She was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol by ambulance accompanied by a critical care doctor.

Woman hit by train in ^stable^ condition

A woman who was hit by a train near Worle Railway Station yesterday (Sun) remains in a stable condition in hospital, according to the British Transport Police (BTP^▸ (British Transport Police)).

The woman, aged 34 and from Worle, was treated by paramedics on the line at about 7.15pm, where she was found conscious and breathing.

She suffered several trauma injuries, including to her head, and was taken to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.

Officers from the BTP are currently trying to establish the woman^s identity to inform her family.

The train involved was the 3.30pm Penzance to Leeds service.

The line was handed back to Network Rail at about 8.10pm.
