From the British Transport Police press release:

Quote
Appeal for information after inappropriate behaviour - Bath Spa

Officers from British Transport Police are calling on the public to help following an incident at Bath Spa railway station.

The incident happened at around 9.30am on Tuesday 3 July 2012, as the victim, a 30-year-old woman from Bristol, was waiting to get off a train which had arrived at Bath Spa station.

She told officers that a male passenger touched her inappropriately as she was waiting for the doors to open and alight from the train.

PC Leighton Rivers, of BTP (British Transport Police), said: ^The victim felt extremely intimidated by this alleged incident. We are investigating, but need assistance from the public. Where you on that train and did you notice the alleged incident? If so, you may have information which can assist police.

^In the meantime, after reviewing CCTV (Closed Circuit Tele Vision) images, I would like to identify and speak to the man in these photographs as I believe he will have information which can help this investigation.^

If you have any information, please call British Transport Police on Freefone 0800 40 50 40 or call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

In all calls please quote background log reference B5/WWA of 23/08/12.

William Huskisson MP (Member of Parliament) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: stop, look, listen.

"Level crossings are safe, unless they are used in an unsafe manner."  Discuss.

It's "were". That said, no-one should escape this sort of allegation because of a grammatical error.
