This is just a brief post to make you all aware of a book that is being published by: www.nostalgiacollection.com

It is hoped that there will be 2 versions.

<> a standard soft-cover version at ^19.99 (available from the publisher and all good book shops). This covers the redoubling project up to the time it went to press in early June 2011 (so will not feature the re-doubled Evesham to Moreton-in-Marsh section in action, however)

<> provided a minimum of 300 orders can be achieved, the publisher would like to produce a Subscribers Limited Edition of the book, which will be hard-back, slightly larger format and will feature an additional 32 pages of photographs, covering the second redoubling blockade in August 2011, together with views of the new infrastructure in regular, daily service. The Subscribers Limited Edition will have a cover price of ^30

I didn't want to clog the post with too much - so if you want some more information feel free to ask me - to order standard version go the website - also for the limited edition put your interest in it so enough people to warrant publishing it

- I will point out I don't have any involvement in this - except the fact I am going to be buying a Limited Edition version - if get the minimum of 300

No, book is by John Stretton, with help from Tim Maddocks, who is a member of the Network Rail project team. You need to be looking at the catalogue pdf for info about it. Title is Cotswold Line Past and Present

It's a bit early - the book available to deliver in September (standard edition)
But can order now if you contact them.

Plus the limited edition will only be done if get minimum of 300 people so it's an idea to tell people now and ask them to contact publishers if they wish to have it

This is going to be a real goodie as Tim Maddocks has arranged for excellent access.  It'll be a fine record of the redoubling.

I'm going to put my name down for the Subscribers Limited Edition.  I suspect getting 300 expressions of interest is not going to be too hard.

If the CLPG^» (Cotswold Line Promotion Group - about) advertise it then I should think their membership alone would easily offer up 300 sales.

I am sure CLPG^» (Cotswold Line Promotion Group - about) will advertise it to its members in its newsletter when it officially becomes available to purchase. However the next newsletter is not due to go out until early December so it might be late publicity for members to express their interest in the enhanced edition. Perhaps someone in the know could forward details when they are officially known to CLPG for inclusion in the CLPG web site.

Crunch time for Subscribers' Limited Edition book

I saw Tim Maddocks yesterday and he told me that the publishers are still a few orders short of the number they need for the Subscribers' Limited Edition.

If you're interested, please e-mail sales@nostalgiacollection.com this week and pass the word along to anyone else you think might be interested.

One last chance........the great news is that the Subscribers' Limited Edition is going ahead.  Orders (and payment) have to be received by next Monday (31 Oct) so there's a last chance to get one "hot off the press" - oh, and by the way, a list of all the subscribers will be printed in the book too.

Thanks, RichardB - I'd originally expressed an interest but hadn't received an application form.  Your post made me chase them up with the deadline fast approaching.  A quick email and a quick response means my order has gone in the post today, so they should still receive it in time.  Without the prompt I'd have probably missed out!

Thanks for the reminder, RichB! WillC flounced away from this forum in a bit of a huff a while back, so I doubt he'll be back to promote it, which is a shame. If you hadn't mentioned it I'd have probably forgotten so I'll go chase them up myself now.
