FGW^▸ (First Great Western) are running a special HST^▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) to take Plymouth Argyle players and fans from Plymouth to Cheltenham tomorrow

"A 'GREEN Pilgrim Special' is hoping to put Plymouth Argyle on track to a big three points.

A one-off train has been chartered for Pilgrims' players and fans heading to the League Two clash at Cheltenham Town next Saturday.

First Great Western is putting on the cut-price direct service to show its support for dedicated Home Park workers ^ and to herald in a fresh dawn under new owner James Brent.

As long as there are no barriers to his takeover, the October 29 meeting should be Argyle's first Saturday away day post-administration.

City businessman Charles Howeson, chairman of the rail company's advisory board, said: "We're going to run the train with volunteers because there's a very strong identity here with what the club's staff have been through.

"We feel that in Plymouth there are one or two strands of DNA that run through the city ^ and one of them is the football club.

"When one of these strands has gone through an immense period of strain and come through the other end because of the strength of its people it's something to celebrate.

"It's about the Blitz spirit ^ Resurgam."

There are 300 tickets up for grabs on the high-speed service, which will include a players' coach and a VIP carriage.

Chris Webb, chair of the Argyle Fans' Trust, said: "This is the dawn of a new era for everyone connected with Argyle.

"We urge all Argyle supporters to pack the train and the terraces at Whaddon Road."

The service, priced at ^18 return for adults and ^9 for under-16s, will leave the city at 7.57am and arrive at Cheltenham at 10.58am. The return trip departs at 6.10pm and sets down exactly three hours later.

Fans need a match ticket to get on board.

First Great Western's general manager for the west, David Crome, added: "Many of our staff are Greens fans and some of them suggested that we might be able to help out at the start of a new chapter in the club's history".
