DO YOU RECOGNISE THIS MAN? TRANSPORT POLICE APPEAL FOR INFORMATION AFTER LUGGAGE THEFT ^ PLYMOUTH/BRISTOL
British Transport Police (BTP) officers are investigating the theft of a passenger^s property, and the attempted theft of a second passenger^s belongings, from on board a train between Plymouth and Bristol Temple Meads railway stations.
Officers are appealing for information and have today released CCTV▸ images of a man they believe will have information which can assist their investigation into the theft and attempted which took place on Monday 10 January 2011.
PC Andy Boston, investigating officer, said: ^A female passenger on board the 1625 Plymouth to Leeds service saw a man come out of a toilet on board the train carrying her suitcase and laptop which she had put in the luggage racks. She confronted him and he handed the property back to the woman. Another female passenger traveling on the same train discovered her rucksack was missing from the luggage rack when she went to leave the train at Bristol Parkway railway station.
^Officers have viewed CCTV images and identified a man who left the train when it arrived at Bristol Temple Meads station at 6.25pm. We are keen to trace and speak to this man as we believe he will have information which can assist our investigation. We believe he boarded the train at Plymouth but it^s unclear at this stage where we went after leaving Bristol Temple Meads station on Monday evening. I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the photographs, or who knows his whereabouts, to contact BTP immediately.^
