Hi All

I have a friend coming to visit me in what will be my new abode on the 23rd July

Now, I need the cheapest options for:

Friday 23rd July
Leaving Paddington after 6pm but as soon as possible after
Preferably direct to nailsea
Want First class - happy to split tickets
No railcard
Advance ok

Sunday 25th July
Bristol to Paddington
Sometime in the evening
Standard - happy to split tickets
If she wants to upgrade - her choice

I would normally look myself but at the moment am running around like a lunatic trying to sort everything so I am appealing to the panel to help me out

Ticket options for direct trains without splitting tickets on Friday 23rd July and Sunday 25th July.

There is a 1930 train direct from London Paddington to Nailsea and Backwell for ^28 first class, it is possible to get a first class single for ^22 at 2115 involving a change at Bristol Parkway.

For the return journey the 1930 from Bristol Temple Meads to Paddington has tickets available for ^12.50 standard and ^22.00 first class.

On Fri 23rd direct HST (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) at 1830 from Paddington to Nailsea currently ^56.50 1st Class, arrive 2028. Also 1900 change at Bristol TM (Train Manager, or possibly Ticket Machine, depending on context) currently ^46.00 1st Class, arrive 2108. There are no splitting options that will yield a saving on these prices. As ChrisB said there are cheaper later options.

On the return journey on Sun 25th there is a direct HST from Nailsea & Backwell at 1913. ^22 1st Class, ^12.50 Standard. Might as well go for the 1st Class Advance as the upgrade, at ^15, will work out more expensive.

Remember these prices are Advance and are subject to change.
