A contractor has died after falling 70ft (21m) into a river from a cherry picker in East Ayrshire.
The man, believed to be in his 40s, was inspecting the underside of a railway viaduct at Stewarton when the incident happened at about 0935 BST on Tuesday.
He is believed to have fallen when the cherry picker toppled over. The man, who was a contractor for Network Rail, died at the scene.
An investigation into the incident is under way.
British Transport Police and Strathclyde Police were at the scene.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch and Office of Rail Regulation have been informed.
A Network Rail spokesman said: "An engineering contractor has died following an accident on the road beneath Stewarton Viaduct. We are working with the police and our contractors to investigate the cause of the incident. Our thoughts are with the man's family at this time."

William Huskisson MP▸ (Member of Parliament, or Mile Post (a method of measuring the railway in miles and chains from a starting point - usually London), depending on context) was the first person to be killed by a train while crossing the tracks, in 1830.  Many more have died in the same way since then.  Don't take a chance: Stop, Look, Listen.
