Love cheat took life on rail track
Love cheat Michael Blanchflower confessed to his wife and daughter that he had been having a secret affair ^ then went to a railway track, lay his head on the line and waited for a train.
Chemical technician Michael, 54, died instantly when he was decapitated shortly after sending a final text to wife Jennifer apologising for his infidelity and signing off: "Sorry for everything."
An inquest heard that just the day before his body was found he had admitted to having a mistress and had moved out of the family home he shared with his devastated wife of 27 years.
The guilt ridden father-of-one from Basingstoke, Hants, then decided to dramatically end his own life.
Wife Jennifer told the inquest at Alton, Hants: "He could never lie to me and felt that he had to tell me what he was doing. He couldn't live with himself and in the end told me everything."
Coroner Andrew Bradley heard that Mr Blanchfower left his wife on Boxing Day and returned the next day to tell her and daughter Amy, 19, about his mistress.
