So how does this work then?  Do I just get on the train and refuse to pay?  If I fare strict they are not going to let me through the barriers at Exeter St. David's?  Or is it just a case of not getting on the train and going by some other means instead? Huh

It's a subject thats been hotly debated on this forum in the past, you need to get hold of MTLS (More Train Less Strain) to get a "fare strike ticket", but, be advised that if you are caught by Revenue Protection Inspector and you get prosecuted you could well end up paying a fine of up to ^1000 and/or 3 months imprisonment for fare evasion!

Oh, I'm not even considering doing it and my journey to work is pretty smooth overall - both Arriva and FGW (First Great Western).  I was just curious.  No, I've got my Devon and Cornwall Gold Card for a year!  On that subject, I put the ticket through the gates at St.Davids twice a day - how long will the ticket last, it's already looking a bit worse for wear after two months?!  And after it stops working I guess I have to just show it to the guys and girls on the gate?

If and when it gets worn out any booking office shuld replace it for a fresh ticket.
