Disabled toilet on FGW HSTs

My enquiring mind noticed something on my journey from RDG^‡(resolve)-BRI^» (Bristol Temple Meads - next trains) this evening.

The disabled access toilet in coach D (?) on FGW^▸ (First Great Western) HSTs^▸ (High Speed Train) has a couple of signs affixed to the automatic sliding door. One shows a pictogram of a person in a wheelchair next to a pictogram of 'baby changing facilities'. To the right of these on the same notice is a Braille sentence, which I guess is there to help the blind. Fair enough. But next to this sign is a a yellow safety notice warning folks not to put their hands on the automatic sliding door. How do the blind heed this warning? They have got the Braille to let them know this is a toilet, but to find this out they have to put their hands on the door.

My guess is - the blind put their hands on the door, then press the button to open it once they know its the loo

The sign is stop idiotic oiks from ****ing about with the door once the mechanism is activated

I would have thought it would be there as a warning that:

"If you get your hand stuck between the door and the wall, and lose you fingers, you can't sue us as we did try and warn you"

I've always found Braille signs on trains a bit puzzling - short of feeling all over the bulkheads, how are blind people supposed to find them? Is there some sort of standard position height above the floor to make matters easier?

I should've pointed out that the yellow warning panel (you know the ones - an exclamation mark in a black triangle on a yellow background) has no accompanying Braille.

So, it's fine for idiotic <sighted> oiks to be warned of the risk of losing fingers in the mechanism, but the blind just have to take the risk. Not very DDA^» (Disability Discrimination Act - about) is it?

Actually it could be.........since it seems to be assuming you DONT get as many blind oiks who try to beat up trains as sighted ones

  Is it because of the compensation culture that companies are having to think for people ?

 Bought a set of saucepans with a ' may contain hot fluids' sticker attached !!!!!!.

I like the sign you get in self-service cafes and restaurants, at the tea/coffee maker:

"Watch that child with boiling water"

So we are meant to watch, and presumably laugh when the child scolds scalds themselves?!

Putting my TJ hat on, why would the child be telling itself off...? 

Seriously though, the combination of idiotic warning notices with p*ss poor spelling, punctuation and grammar is one I find incredibly irksome.

Another problem with the boiling water one is: since when has boiling water been required to watch children?
