This may seem like a strange question, but has anyone recently had any tickets from a TOC (Train Operating Company)'s telesales that come in the ATB format?  (Like Eurostar or airline tickets)

I believe that SWT (South West Trains) were still issuing them but have now switched away from Tribute, so only issue the common stock tickets.

Is there anywhere else that these can still be obtained?

Why do you want them? They don't work on most barriers.

I knew someone would ask, hence the "This may seem like a strange question" in the OP (Original Poster / topic starter).

I'm actually in need of them as a gift (yes, I know).

Basically, I was chatting to a relative at Christmas.  Got onto the fact that he collects train tickets (I'm sure there is a name for them).

Anyway, apparently all his tickets are either on Common Stock, hand written or pre-APTIS (All Purpose Ticket Issuing System) - he doesn't have anything in the ATB format (except a Eurostar ticket).

That got me thinking, a good gift for him for his birthday would be a train ticket to somewhere, which was printed in the ATB format.

This brings me onto my next question, do any travel agents issue tickets in other formats?  I believe he doesn't have anything that has been issued by a travel agent - so that would be a good xmas present for next year!

They're now sending the small orange credit card sized tickets.

A phone booking with the erstwhile NXEC (National Express East Coast) a year or so ago elicited ATB tickets. It may be that East Coast telesales still use the same system but I can't make any promises.
