Is there anywhere at Heathrow where I can buy a through rail ticket, including the RailAir bus to Reading? Or do I have to purchase the RailAir ticket on the bus then buy a ticket for the rest of the journey at Reading?

You able to access this website from across the pond? http://www.railair.come-ticket printing facility available. Then mebbes just collect your rail tickets from a TVM▸ at Reading?

I think the enquirer wants to pick up a combined ticket, like you can if travelling to Heathrow via Rail & RailAir....

That was originally true, but having checked out bignosemac's advice it's actually a pound cheaper to purchase a RailAir eticket then collect tickets for the remainder of the journey at Reading.

That's rather stupid....you'd expect the combined to be cheaper or at least the same price!

AIUI▸ combined tickets are the price of 2 separate tickets, ie the same as if they weren't bought together. The ^1 saving inspector_blakey refers to is for booking the coach ticket online. As far as I can tell, Railair fares are a different system to train fares and there are no cheap advance tickets available.

Like station+bus tickets, combined tickets usually give a small discount - that was what I was referring to.

RailAir is unusual because it's a flat GBP15.00 add-on to any fare to Reading, so since RailAir gives you a GBP1.00 discount for "etickets" booked online that saves you a quid.
I've just discovered that it's actually a few pounds cheaper for the journey I'm making to take Heathrow Connect into Paddington then catch my train there rather than Reading (with big thanks to FGW▸ for halving the fare for a PAD» - WTL off-peak single!).

Enjoy that 'half the return price' off peak single to Whitland. In January both the off peak and super off peak singles rise by around 15%. The returns stay almost the same, excepting that the super off peak return drops by 0.4% as it is a regulated fare. It thus becomes a whopping 30p cheaper.

This thread reminds me of a piece of lunacy that I encountered many years ago when travelling regularly from Edinburgh to Eastleigh whilst serving in the Royal Navy.
My journey involved using the rail-air coach from Heathrow to Woking. The coach operator would not accept a coach travel warrant as they claimed they were operating a "rail service". BR▸ would not accept a rail travel warrant as it was patently not a train. The Navy paid us a mileage allowance in the end !!!!

BR▸ were in error - it is part of the timetable and thus a warrant could cover the coach journey..

Thank goodness we don't have those "that ticket is only valid on another company" problems now, eh?
Ahhh.....
