Byt the same overrunning engineering works - 23 minutes yesterday, 13 minutes today

Yesterday it made up 10 but I left my bike behind as the 9 minute OFFICIAL connection at Reading was very doubtful (indeed I missed it).  Today, I thought well if it made up 10 yesterday and is only 13 late.........took bike....WRONG - arrived at reading 13 late!

Missed connection.

This is beginning to feel like the bad old days when I could not rely on a train to get me to work on time!

(and if anyone knows what the college somewhere south of wokingham is that the hoards get on the 0804 to redhill for, I'd like to know.  Bunch of unruly, antisocial barstewards who treat the train as their own personal transport and kicked the crap out of my bike (folded) because they had to make an effort to get past it.

Which does indeed make it sound like Farnborough, as you have Farnborough Tech and Farnborough Sixth Form

Quote this morning from the token guy (i'm sure he has an official job title

"This is never on time"

Apparently not enough time to get from Hereford to Malvern is allowed.

However, i'm going to start a Reginald Perrin series of excuses - this morning "poor overhead conditions at Rugby" took the biscuit..   Apparently he was saying poor track conditions between hereford and ledbury but that was NOT what came over the tannoy.

So lets start......

11 Nov 2009 - 0535
12 minutes late, was a bit foggy, deepest darkest herefordshire
12 minutes late, signals forgot about us, Didcot Parkway

That's the 05:17 off Great Malvern?

"This train will be started from Didcot Parkway. It will no longer call at: Great Malvern, Malvern Link, Worcester Foregate Street, Worcester Shrub Hill, Pershore, Evesham, Honeybourne, Moreton-In-Marsh, Kingham, Charlbury, Hanborough and Oxford. This is due to over-running engineering works."

which is interesting because I'm now on the 0626 from wos which is rnuuning 9 late and we were told this was because the previous London service was cancelled due to train failure at hereford which blocked the line delaying this one ...... This is after gettin an extra hours kip in the car when I discovered the demise of my intended chariot . Will sleep on the thoughts for my reginald update today

Er no.......    *I* was an hour late into reading!  The fact that particular service arrived early does not mean I was!
