In past years I am sure that December 24th saw peak ticket restrictions lifted across the board. It doesn't appear to be the case on FGW (First Great Western) toward London this year (or from Paddington in the morning peak). Searching both trainline and MixingDeck based ticket sellers throws up lifted restrictions only between 28th-31st Dec.

VWC and NXEC (National Express East Coast) both appear to have lifted restrictions for 24th Dec on all services. Why are FGW being so miserly? Not very festive of them. Sad

On a seperate but similar note, does anyone know why, despite FGW (First Great Western)'s website advertising that tickets can now be bought up to the 6th Jan, no advance tickets are showing. The same is true if you use Network Rail's site yet I have just managed to buy advanced tickets for 6th Jan using Southeastern's site.

Get to try out HS1 (High Speed line 1 - St Pancras to Channel Tunnel) on this ojurney though which is quite exciting!

Just looked at a random journey for 6th Jan via FGW Website and it showed Advance being available as advertised.
