DfT, organising the degrading of the passenger experience.

SWR^» responding on Twitter to a passenger giving feedback that threatening announcements do not make for a positive journey experience for them. I'm sure that certain other TOCs^▸ are also under a similar regime:

"The announcements on our services are a requirement set by the Department of Transport. This is something we have no choice but to comply to. ^SE"

If you have a railcard discounted ticket that is rejected by a SWR^» gateline, that's likely to be down to the DfT^» as well and their ticketless travel survey this period.

There are on certain other operators - eg Chiltern, who had to go back to the DfT^» to allow them to soften their appalling messages.
