There are some amazing lots in this auction on Thursday - https://www.leonardauction.com/auction/auction-310/page/1/

Quote
Railwayana Auction featuring the collection of Tom E. Jones, including 37 nameplates, 60 cabside numbers, totems, worksplates, destination boards, model trains, maps, signs and more!

Largely GWR (Great Western Railway).

Beware - the auction is based in Illinois, estimates are in $$ and I haven't a clue about shipping.

I think that if these lots came to me & I wanted to sell, I would have shipped them wholesale to the UK (United Kingdom) first - surely the fact that they are in the USA would depress prices by a lot more than the shipping costs?

The shipping cost for half a dozen lumps of cast steel in the shape of rail chairs would be enormous

My cynical mind is wondering about the provenance of this stuff.  And it's genuineness.  Looks like a stash that's too good to be true

They were presumably shipped out there? So it can't be too enormous?

$322 shipping for a cabside plate to Florida.  Almost all the items have a "provenance" section saying when and where they were obtained, and on that basis I suspect that most are genuine / above board.  We don't know how they got to the USA but shipped in bulk (a container of stuff) the per-item rate may have been reasonable.  I don't recall Lisa's 40' container being too expensive when we shipped her over to the UK (United Kingdom), but then I was more concerned at looking after Lisa than the stuff in the container.

Glad you confirmed she wasn’t shipped over in the container!
