How do members find the nearest station to a given destination? For local journeys I tend to use TravelWest - which is good at giving a range of options. Google Maps is another obvious option.

Are there any other, perhaps better ways of doing this. particularly if you were planning a longer trip?

Google Maps is my go to nearly always. Stations, bus stops, pubs, butchers, opticians, chemists, pet shops, and the lesser spotted Tourist information Centres. The latter a dying breed.

Slightly disappointed that Isle of Man bus stops aren't currently mapped by the nearly all seeing eyes of Google.

Presumably because they don't contribute to the DfT» (Department for Transport - about) dataset.

This website will give you train times for your nearest station. I know it isn't quite what you were asking.
I have it saved on the home page of my phone.
