Hi all,

Were there any problems with services into Paddington this morning ?

The platforms from Goring to Maidenhead were all packed compared to normal mornings (more so given the lack of school kids!), and the 3 car turbo was replaced by a (squeaking) 180 which was 10 minutes late.

The CIS (Customer Information System) at Goring was out of action (again, but at least it wasn't the good old Windows bluescreen that was displayed for days previously Roll Eyes ), but the app on the phone wasn't reporting any issues.

Talking of which, hurrah for The Cloud WiFi at Goring, Vodafone coverage is terrible in that area and I had forgotten to re-install the app since I updated my phone, so I quickly jumped onto WiFi to download it to check for any issues with the trains! Was nice and speedy Smiley

Has the 0739 changed to a 180 now (think its the 0700 from Oxford), or was it a one off ? If so, can it remain a one off for the rest of the week, as the aircon was lovely for a change!

Yes it has, along with the following 08:00 departure from Goring (07:21ex Oxford).  Looks as though they'll struggle to keep to Turbo timings at the Thames Valley stations due to the slower boarding that its design leads to, but at least the air-con usually works and 1st Class ticket holders will get some value for their investment!

Nice, will have to work out my new boarding point for a swift exit at Maidenhead (was totally in the wrong place this morning - and I don't do crowds!) Grin

Thanks II!

Seems the rejoicing won't be unconfined in the Thames Valley tonight....

18:57 London Paddington to Reading due 20:00 Will be formed of 2 coaches instead of 5.
This is due to an earlier train fault. Message Received :23/07/2012 17:16

If it helps the 8am Maidenhead to Paddington was late this morning and we were told on arrival to Paddington that it missed out a couple of earlier stops (think one was was yours) to make up time.. That probably explains it being busier than usual.. It leaves Didcot about 7.14ish by the way :-)
