I was on the first run out of Portishead this morning, waiting along with 20 others at the Combe Road bus stop in Portishead. A roving Radio Bristol reporter was in attendance and created a jolly mood on the first jam packed single decker service that took 20 minutes instead of at least 4 hours there and back, that residents have had to endure for the last 3 years. A 3000+ name petition was presented for North Somerset and we now have 3 round trips a day giving 2 hours at Cribbs Causeway with 4 on Saturdays. It was a shame we didn't have a TV crew on board as the 95% passengers were over 65 and using their ENCTS (English National Concessionary Travel Scheme) passes and serenaded the driver with a rip roaring version of 'the wheels on the bus go round and round'. I hope the service utilises a double decker, and as the song says 'all day long' as it soon gets  upgraded to an hourly service.
