Only obtusely related to public transport ... a consultation and survey to help Wiltshire Council choose between options "1" and "2" for improved cycling and walking routes from Semington to Hilperton when what they really should be doing (
IMHO▸ ) is improving National Cycle Route 4 which runs parallel a few hundred yards to the north and carries on off-road from Hilperton into Trowbridge, rather than dumping people onto the A361, on which they have painted a few bicycles and added one or two refuges but is still (again
IMO▸ ) not safe - wouldn't let my grandchildren cycle there!
Why smoke and mirrors? A classic example of a consultation rather than a consultation, a survey rather than a survey. Designed, I suspect to tick boxes and to show public support for their options "1" and "2" - looking for what's easiest and not what's joined up and best.
