From Real Time TrainsSanta Special ... delivering presents. Fueled by coal not carrots, I note As the call is made on the Welsh-bound run, are Network Rail putting a footbridge in for the occasion, or can the train (that late an night) run wrong line from Patchway?

Maybe Graham wrote to Santa and asked for a footbridge.

Will it be returning via Prague? As the last booked call is Redditch I hope its returning via Barnt Green. The Single line controls on the Redditch branch may or may not still consist of something Western Region signal engineers refered to as one in something out. A train entering the branch at Barnt green operated a sequence of track circuits at the start of the branch and then dissapered into no mans land. This locked the signal onto the branch until the train returned and operated the track circuits in the reverse sequence. So if it flies to North Pole from Reddich the S+T will have to attend.

There is now a loop at Alvechurch, though conventional signal rules don't apply to the magic Lapland operated trains.

Don't forget the Depot speed at North Pole depot is 5 mph Probably why it's allowed longer on the legs in and out of the depot than any other legs on the journey!
