Eureka! I think I have worked out no. 2 - their three letter station codes comprise consecutive letters of the alphabet (ABC, KLM^▸ (English name: Royal Dutch Airlines ) and STU)

Sturry played a large part in sparking my interest in railways.  My grandparents lived on the North Kent coast and we passed by the station on the way there.  Not only did it mean the journey (pre M25 days) was nearly over but I was fascinated by the manual level crossing gates which it had at the time.  I remember my father taking me there for an hour just so I could watch the procedure of opening and closing the gates a few times.

Of course now replaced with barriers.
