Countryfile this evening started with a short item featuring part of the Settle & Carlisle line...and this will undoubtedly prove popular amongst the contributors to this forum who are fans of Julia Bradbury (although it was definitely NOT bikini weather!).

Ah yes, well worth an ogle , I mean a look. 

It was a good piece actually, and gave a good flavour of the line for viewers. I didn't spot any of the usual editing faux-pas that you get, although maybe my attention was elsewhere.

Later on in the Dimbelby piece he seemed to travel on an HST^▸ (High Speed Train (Inter City class 43 125 units)) to Cambridge.

I'm sorry but I don't get the Julia Bradbury thing. Although she tends to be on TV^▸ (Thames Valley) covering things in which I am interested like railways and walking (or both), I find her delivery intensely irritating.  For example, making a joke to the signaller about having a train set at home.  Cringe!   I would much rather have had Matt Baker doing this piece.

ITV at 7pm yesterday, so should be available On the ITV Hub. This was one of the second series of her walks first seen in 2017. The first series was the year before, one of which Marion was featured at Colmers Hill, near Bridport. We spent two hours on the hill fir a five minute piece in the programme!

Just checked it is one of three available on the Hub, the others are Isle of Man, including the railway and Lynton / Lynmouth to Watersmeet. Available for one month from date of transmission.

I was inspired by that programme so in July 2016 I set off for Symondsbury to follow that Golden Cap walk. I had already downloaded the ViewRanger route from the programme website. Unfortunately I hadn't got far when I found the route was blocked by a newish looking fence preventing me from getting to Colmers Hill. Looking around me I couldn't figure out how to proceed without potentially trespassing on private property so I chose to detour missing the hill. The following year I went again. This time I had done extra research involving Google Streetview and searches for Colmers Hill walking and I was able to plot a route up the hill. It's a wonderfully distinctive hill with a great view.
