It could also be used as a possible excuse to split the service at a later date.

Being GWR, we can't call them "fast" and "slow"

We could have fun with this one ... can't call them "main" and  "relief" - confusion with lines, wrong usage of words, and you can' relieve yourself on the relief trains.

"Falcons" - the superfasts that don't even stop at Reading
"Eagles" - first stop Reading, IETs▸ (Intercity Express Train - replacement for HSTs (manufactured by Hitachi in Kobe, Japan))
"Swifts" - one or two stops on their way to Reading
"Swans" - about half the stations
"Ostritches" - all stations trains

Could use the same same borrowing from old American practice that Thames Trains did for one peak train and call them "Thames Valley Limited"

So the train at 10:30 would be the 10:30 Limited?  Now where have I heard that before?  Wasn't that the other name the old GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) used for the Cornish Riviera Express?

Another issue  - this time a stop removed at King's Sutton from an already-sparse evening service from Oxford - customer now has to double back via Banbury (is there an easement for that?)
