'Write-date-in' carnet tickets exist with some other TOCs▸ but have some practical issues, including the potential of being falsely accused of using them a second time if you had trouble in writing the date on the shiny surface or if it becomes smudged.
I can see that being used for places where a check by a human is likely - rangers, Interrail, etc. For busy commuter routes where only checks by machine are expected except very rarely - maybe not, without cleverer machines.
