A band of heavy snow fell across much of the network on Friday night and we are expecting this extreme weather to continue until around midday on Monday, with temperatures as low as -10 degrees overnight, and high winds forecast early on Monday morning.
How will this affect the train service?
South Western Railway are still aiming to provide a full service, depending on conditions there is the possibility of delays or some alterations.
They do seem to be running OK, at least to Reading.
GWR▸ have a message that comes up on NRE for each NDL train, saying:
Service updates
This train has been delayed by heavy snow over recent days
But the trains are running to time, with just that missing Blackwater call. Blackwater's
CIS▸ is just saying:
Due to the icy underfoot conditions at this station, no trains will be calling at Blackwater today. Replacement road transport will not be available.
No trains are scheduled to call at this station for at least 90 minutes.
