2. Ford ?

Correct!

My first rail journey of 2018 started at Salisbury, taking a very tired looking and rattly GWR (Great Western Railway) Class 158 service to Southampton. Changed there onto a Southern Class 377 along the West Coastway line to Ford. Another change onto a following Southern  Class 313 originating at Portsmouth & Southsea, destination Littlehampton.

On the return I took a Southern Class 313 from Littlehampton as far as Emsworth. Changed there onto a following Brighton - Southampton Southern Class 377. Then from Southampton back to Salisbury on a SWR» (South Western Railway - about) Class 158.

Everything on time and a thoroughly enjoyable bash for Finn and I. For the bargain Railcard price of £17.50 Off Peak Day Return, thanks to Southern's very cheap via Barnham fares. For example you can, with that routeing, get from Weymouth to Ramsgate for just £31.70 (£20.95 Railcard) Off Peak Return. Even cheaper if you wanted to attempt such a return journey in one day!

Oh, and it's not just GWR who do retro BR (British Rail(ways)) liveries. I spotted this Class 313 at Littlehampton:

Think we should start a Friends of Finn Fraternity, and fight to have his own dedicated four footed fulminations  on a separate thread. Think he might have a lot to 'say' about the biped bignosemac who he allows to live with him !

HUGE STATION
This is a very big station but well signed and easy to find ones platform. It is quite a way from the city centre but there are plenty of buses and taxis. The building has a splendid Victorian glass roof which reminded me of Brighton station. Not really a visitor attraction but a place that large numbers of people pass through each day.
