All, I know this comes up frequently but think this is a variation on the theme. Please stick with me...

My other half wants to book some tickets for her son to travel between Bicester Village and Cardiff (Cathays to be specific) this coming Saturday and pay in advance. Due to the fact she is currently suffering from sciatica she will not be travelling.

So my questions are as follows Smiley

If she books them today when is the earliest she can pick them up?
Will her son need the original CC to collect them or can he present any card?
Can they potentially be picked up from any station?

Officially they're available within 2 hours, it depends on booking agent site but I've picked up within 10 minutes on occasion.

Again using the same card depends on the booking agent and tvm. From experience we've picked up at several GWR▸ (Great Western Railway) TVMs▸ (Ticket Vending Machine) in Cornwall having booked on GWR website with different cards. I normally book for my wife with varying splits, and let her pick it up. However on one occasion used Trainline due to a cashback offer exceeding the admin fee, and a different card didn't work, with the tvm displaying a message the booking card needed to be used.

Thank you...just to confirm these tickets are for Saturday so should (for example) it be possible to pick the tickets up tomorrow if booked today?

Depends on which booking engine you use - but 2 hours after booking is the longest possible wait. Some offer pick up after 15 minutes.

Again, depends on who she books with - read the T&Cs carefully on whichever you choose. If booked through Chiltern, yes. Call Chiltern telesales & explain & they can set up a collection on any card (ie a business booking)

yes, in all cases, any station with a connected TVM▸ (Ticket Vending Machine) (ie in the drop down list of available stations given when booking online)

Definitely. Maximum time scale is 2 hours for them to be available.
